Term: Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS)

A detergent used by many manufacturers of shampoos and cleaners. Designed to act as a sudsing agent and to remove dirt and pollution from the hair.

Cocoamide DEA/MEA is a much milder form ofhair cleansing detergent. When Cocoamide DEA/MEA is listed on a hair care product label before a sulfate it indicates that the shampoo is more gentle than one with ALS.

Daily Hair Tip
Fine hair needs shampoos that provide enough moisture to prevent frizzies but not too much moisture that will weigh it down. Volumizing products provide fullness for limp locks.
